Thanks for sticking around…

Hi Everyone,

I want to thank everyone who has continued to follow this blog which I have been completely inconsistent with. My deep apologies because I would like to be as current with my information as I can be.

Being that I finally peaked with over 400 viewers this month, I am thrilled! On that note, I would love to get some feedback of ways I can make my site more interesting. Are there certain types of articles/people/movies/music you’d like me to be focusing in on? Please feel free to express your ideas as this is for the people.

On the music front, I was sent a link today from a friend about the San Francisco Outside Lands Music Festival. Before entering into the “music biz” (if you will), I never really followed the festival scene. I usually surrounded my musical interests to billboard charts and mainstream music. Boy was I missing out! So many great performers are involved with these festivals. In particular with the Outside Lands festival you’ve got DMB, Black Eyed Peas, Jason Mraz, Beastie Boys, TV on the Radio, Q-Tip, Lanka, Matt & Kim, Brett Dennen..The list keeps going! I hope to attend this year..

On the movie front, State of Play this friday?? Finally Rachel McAdams is in another film. I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while so I’ve got pretty high expectations. The last movie I saw in the theater was I Love You, Man, which i enjoyed very much. I thought it was a bit long, however, I enjoyed the chemistry between Paul Rudd and Jason Segal on screen and thought it was a movie worth seeing in the theaters. Star Trek Trailer? Angels and Demons Trailer? These movies are going to be the biggest summer hits (oh wait, and Harry Potter!) These are to be guaranteed successes. JJ Abrams is genius and he’s got the up and coming star lineup. This movie is their golden ticket for success.

Now, TV. I don’t watch much but here’s what I think based on the TV shows I follow. United States of Tara: extremely bizarre but intelligent. I wanted more answers by the end of the season. But I’m hoping they waited in anticipation for a season 2 (!?) Gossip Girl: My guilty pleasure, however, it’s getting a little boring for me. I’m ready for the old Serena to re-emerge and more drama to stir up NYC. American Idol: it’s not so difficult to figure out that Adam Lambert has already won the competition. His rendition of Mad World was chilling and unbelieveable. For Simon Cowell to give the standing “o” really means something. Rescue Me: NEED TO START WATCHING.

Just wanted to express my appreciation for those who keep reading. I hope to bring you more interesting information/articles that will stir your curiosity!

PS. Insider info: I get a lot of my info from Entertainment Weekly and Vanity Fair magazine. Excellent sources.

The Watchmen Soundtrack

Highly anticipated/controversial comic comes to film “The Watchmen” includes a very unique soundtrack. Billboard analyzes the film and its relationships with choosing mostly tracks from 1930s-1960s to portray the political environment in society then as represented in the film.

Britney Spears-Circus

We’ve all been waiting for this..

Yes, the new Britney Spears album hit stores Tuesday, December 3. Look, we all know she went through a rough patch. But I think we are wanting to really believe this time that this is the real comeback.

Strategically, her MTV Britney Spears: For The Record was placed Sunday in preparation for the album release. After watching the documentary, you really want to feel sorry for her. Although I am not a doctor in any means, this girl is depressed. Whether post-traumatic stress disorder after having two kids is a factor, she is a sad girl.

However, we see her showcase her well known dance moves as she filmed the “Womanizer” and “Circus” music videos.  Even though her intricacy does not parallel to videos like “Slave For You” or “Overprotected”, the concept and visuals in the videos are intriguing enough to bring her back to the forefront.

Having nabbed 3 moon men at the MTV VMAs, I think it brought some of the confidence back to bring her game back.

Having listened to the album, it is overall a typical Britney album: full of pop, good club beats. However, as compared to the 2007 Blackout album, the improvement in her attitude has the praises of Circus give her the respect it deserves.

Her second single, Circus is my favorite song of the album. The video was just released on her youtube site this week. Check it out here:

Farewell, TRL

MTVs Total Request Live (TRL) is saying goodbye after its ten year run on the network.  Being a former watcher of the show, it completely revolutionized the way we look at music videos as well as bringing us more intimately to our favorite artists and actors.

The show started in 1998 with just a host (Carson Daly) standing next to a TV screen counting down the top 10 music videos of the day.  Small groups of people began to stand outside the MTV building in Times Square to get a peak into the studio to maybe see the guest musician that came to the show to talk about their video.  Small packs became enormous crowds so big that they started bringing people into the studio…

And then the real show began…

Artists admit that having their video on the top 10 list of TRL was a major feat. They knew how many people were watching and voting for their favorite artists to take that number one spot and try to keep it for as many days as possible.

Some music videos (Britney Spears, *NSYNC) made record numbers for having a number one video that they put a maximum amount of days that a video could be in the #1 spot. Videos like Christina Aguilera’s “Genie In A Bottle” and Backstreet Boys “I Want It That Way” made an imprint for the show and the videos that followed in its footsteps.

The finale episode “Total Finale Live” brought back all of its big guest stars to speak about the show and the influence its had on them and their careers. Diddy, Christina Aguilera (via satellite), Kid Rock, Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez, Taylor Swift, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris and many more made short appearances to bid their farewells. Live performances included 50 Cent and G-Unit, Beyonce, Backstreet Boys and Fallout Boy.

Toping the 10 most iconic music videos list was none other than Britney Spears “Baby One More Time”. I think we can say that she has come full circle from her earlier career of reigning the pop scene to her 2008 comeback. (sidenote: her newest album, The Circus, slated for December release)

I think I speak for most of Generation Y when I say that TRL will be truly missed. I still remember my first morning watching TRL in 1998. My first video was “Goodbye” by the Spice Girls (after Geri left). It changed my interest in music forever.

RIP: 1998-2008

You’ve made us wait long enough!!!

(Photo: Fray; Credit:

Our first listen to the new single, “You Found Me”, can be heard first next ThursdayNOVEMBER 20th. It will air during a commercial break of ABCs Grey’s Anatomy in a promo for the upcoming season of Lost.  Afterwards, if you go to, you will be able to get a first listen of the song in its’ entirety and download it online.

The song won’t hit radio waves until Friday, the 21st.

Check out more info at

Side note: The Fray got their first big buzz with the song “How To Save A Life” which aired as a song on Grey’s Anatomy. This was the starting point to their current success in the music world. Songs like “Look After You” and “Over My Head” have been used in various tv shows/films [Things We Lost in The Fire].

Leave you off with one of the more unknown Fray songs from their first album, How To Save a Life (Sony) “Vienna”

Expecting depressing music and lyrics. However, I still LOVE.

Are there times where you’re just sick of your iPod? Even with over 4,000 songs?? (a la moi).

On, it allows you to create playlists with songs from 1901-2006. Each decade has at least 300 songs (probably less as the years go back in time). However, if you’re looking for songs that you haven’t heard in years, its a great source. NOTE: You can only access this on your computer and cannot transfer playlists to your own ipod, CD players, etc.

How to set up playlists: Sign up (FREE) with your email, user name and password. Search for songs and underneath it picks different choices: add to playlist, dowload MP3, etc. When you add the song, you can either start a new playlist or add to old ones (if you choose to make various playlists.)

Have fun and enjoy some songs I put on my playlist today:

Jewel “Intuition”, Madonna “Frozen”, Justin Timberlake “Cry Me A River”, Savage Garden “To The Moon and Back”, Busta Rhymes Featuring Mariah Carey “I Know What You Want”
